Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete was crowned Miss Universe last night at a glamorous event held on the Las Vegas Strip.

The 22 year old model wins a a luxury New York apartment, a one-year scholarship to the New York Film Academy, jewelry, clothes and shoes.

First runner-up was Miss Jamaica Yendi Phillipps, while second runner-up was Miss Australia Jesinta Campbell.
